Shamrock Safari

About Us - Alastair & Jess
Shamrock Safari is how we plan to become true global citizens. Sometime in the near future, we plan to move from Sydney, Australia to Ireland to substantially increase our professional depth by living and working in a dramatically different country. We then plan to fly to Cape Town, South Africa and overland throughout East Africa by Land Rover 110.

Why drive through Africa? We think it will be the ultimate travel experience! Besides, we also have a secondary aim:

To try every combination of the legendary colonial 'Rock Shandy'. We will post the winning recipe here, but in the meantime, try the Malawian Rock Shandy:

* mix half a tall glass of ice with equal parts lemonade and ginger ale (not ginger beer!).
* add 3 dashes of Angostura bitters and stir

Where are we now?

Tzebi the Lucky Green Zebra (Equus grevyi Oustalet, 1882)
Alastair's talented Dad, Mike, designed our lucky green zebra specifically for our trip and our website. Thanks dad! We're quite convinced no-one in Africa (or Ireland) has ever seen a green Zebra before.
'Tzebi' is a Hebrew word meaning 'splendid' or 'beauty' and may have been the original reason for the word 'Zebra'. Congratulations to Alastair's mum, Priscilla for providing this clever name. She wins an email account and a Shamrock Safari t-shirt for her efforts.
